Well I think I’m going to make it the whole time the wife was gone! Feels great to get a small win…now it’s on to bigger and more difficult challenges to come.

    90 and beyond!

Good. Got a little under two days and I will be two weeks clean. So I feel pretty good at the moment.

I’m feeling so good right now. Been staying very busy as of late and it seems to be helping. I know this is just the start to a long journey but it feels so good. I’ve tried this many times before and the one thing I always forget is how good it feels to not watch porn. My goal is to remember how crappy I feel when I give in and how good I feel when I don’t. Hope fully this propels me

    90 and beyond!!!

Welcome it’s great to have someone else on board! Hopefully this thread can be of help to you in your journey against porn. Today for the first time in like 20 days I really feel an urge to cave in. But I came on here and see a reminder why I’m doing this. Seeing your post reminded me why I started in the first place. Thank you

    let’s go 90 and beyond

    Hey keys2win & all community!

this forum seems to be a more active one, hence adding myself to the journey. Just created my account 5mins ago to make this post and reply. Read the rebooting page and off we go ,right now!

Small introduction: To my surprise,I seem to be one of the oldest around. I'm 40, married with 2 little kids and addicted since (make sure you are seated) over 25 years. It's only a lost case, if you give up. Tried many different approaches to get rid of this false addictive dark friend, who just seem to be good for short joyful moments on a surface. Short brief and sinful moments, at an expensive cost, paid in a currency that is made of all lost joy, lost opportunities, purer emotions, clearer mind, time and a better you. Longest strike so far has been 1 month, but that was like 4 years ago. I know it will take a lot to change, with some valleys laying ahead,...But now I'm here, and you never walk alone!

Side note, I'm following this hype about dopamine detox that raised recently. Learning about how the brain and hormones work, was just an eye opener. Knowing the enemy, the mechanisms and how all is connected worked surprisingly well for me. Will get the next book tomorrow and learn more about the machine that works against me in my head. For those interested, the author is Anna Lembke, Chief of the Stanford Addiction Medicine Dual Diagnosis Clinic at Stanford University.

    Let's keep this thread going!

When you lose, don't lose the lesson. - Dalai Lama

Did you identify your trigger? Did you think of any countermeasures for the next time?

That disappointment is understandable, but great to see you got still that determination. It's a glitch, not a relapse! This is not starting from 0!

BTW, I saw some measuring their overall days without PMO vs the counter, I personally find this a more representative measure. Not that we should care so much about others, but one could see your signature and sees a 1 day only, which skips and deletes the entire strike you had so far. It's not lost and it should be accounted as well. What do you think?

I don’t mind myself using the signature. I actually get a lot of enjoyment seeing the counter go up…though I don’t personally look at it to much. I just peak at it from time to time.

I realize that I have to control my thoughts. When I get to thinking about something I shouldn’t I have to just stop myself in my tracks. I’ve been successful many times and I will get myself busy in something else. I also pray personally. This time I didn’t and I paid the price. I also was isolated in my room on my bed, which is a major contributor.

What really matters is to be clear on the goal. Will actually use a reminder,to re-emphazise on the goal from time to time. It's so recent, so few days in,...for me it takes up a lot of time, but routine and time can make this fragil.

    Stay strong

Yesterday was challenging,...several things pilled up. Bad news from the doctor, tired, plus god involuntarily exposed to some tempting images in the media. You can't trust Internet or TV nowadays,... terrible.

Hanging in though! Let's keep steady and fight this through!!!
