The utility of well directed passions

  1. The key to fighting urges or untamed passions is not simply the cessation of them.
The key to killing untamed passion is replacement with a better passion.

20 mins ago, I had flashbacks of P in my mind in the washroom. I am home alone.
But then I thought of how giving in would be self sabotage.
And for some reason, the lyrics of Do You Hear the People Sing? came into my mind.

Do you hear the people sing?
Singing the song of angry men
It is the music of a people who will not be slaves again

I was moved, because the lyrics apply to all of us who have been enslaved by the garbage that is out there. We have all become slaves.

I felt a surge of frustration, anger even. At how there are dark forces trying to take out my soul. Our souls.

I focused on this emotion, anger, instead of my lustful urges.
This anger was righteous anger. Aimed at what is unholy.

I put on the song. Loud. On my phone. I sang along with it.

    The urges went away.

The key to killing untamed passions is replacing them with stronger, better passions.
Use the emotions (such as anger) to our advantage
