Today I came back from a large youth church convention. It is 12:49 AM right now but I really feel the need to share this because while I was gone, I realized something. I know a lot of you don't believe in the bible or even God, but let me propose something. Christians believe that marriage is a special bond and that sex is a sacred bond between a man and woman who are married. It is a way for them to express each other and of course "be fruitful and multiply" as it says in the first book of the bible. It is actually cool to think that God loved us so much that he made sex pleasurable in the first place. He could have easily made it purely for function but he loves us that much that he did not do that. Anyway back to the point. The bible says that sexual immorality (masturbation) and lust (porn) are sins. Now why would God say this?

Well why are YOU fighting against your pmo habits? Some is to benefit you and your family. Erectile dysfunction can really damage family relationships, and God, through his word, says that we shouldn't do it. He is looking out for us. Also by abstaining from masturbation, many (including I) have noticed physical improvements. He also says we shouldn't lust. We all know the very dangerous effects of prolonged consumption of porn. It rewires us. It turns sex from a bond of love into a game all about pleasure and how I (ME) feel. It turns it from love (selflessness) into selfishness. It turns women into objects. That is not God's plan and that is why he commands us not to do it.

Sex is meant for two people. Period. A study was done in Texas that proved that the more sexual partners that one has over time, the less meaningful each partner is after the other and the more likely you are to be divorced more than once. That is because when you have sex, different "bonding" chemicals are released. The more you exploit this, the more it goes away until sex is purely for recreation (not the way God intended). Not only does multiple partners make your sex life less than satisfying it also exposes you to the risk of STDs.

The bible also says to not have sex outside of marriage. People do this ALL THE TIME. Then we wonder why divorces rates are so high. In Malachi 2:16 (in the bible) we learn that God hates divorce and it isn't his plan but he knows that because humans are sinful and corrupt, it will still happen sometimes. Also if you live with the person who you are going to marry before you are married, you have a MUCH higher chance of getting divorced later on.

Conclusion: God doesn't command us to follow him and his "law" because he hates us and wants us to fail. No he does it because he wants us to have a joyful and blessed time on earth. I know a lot of you don't believe in God but I just want you to know that faith is a huge part in this process of nofap because God commands we don't PMO. People have this misconception about Christians. They think that they are Christians because they think they are better than everyone else. The opposite is actually true. Christians are Christians because they KNOW they are sinful, broken, evil, wicked, immoral human beings who are in need of Jesus' forgiveness that is available because of what he did on the cross. Please if you have any questions ask them. I will do my best to answer them to the best of my ability.

This is beautifully put. I wanted to bring out the similarities myself but was just too occupied and lazy to write them out.

There are probably more believers here than you think. But I agree, no one can fight this battle alone, faith is a huge part of it.

If you seek first the kingdom of God, what are you promised?

Nothing. Because you have to "seek first the kingdom of God and his Righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you."
    Matt 6:33.

I find there is way too much religion on here sometimes. If that's why you want to do this that fine but some days I feel I'm surrounded by preachers. This is not by nature a religious site.

Feel free to not look at the threads that are clearly religious by their titles. We try not to bring religion into non-religious threads.

@Brock Brannigan I wish I had realized these things at your age. Your profile says you are 14 - if this is accurate I congratulate you on your advanced wisdom at such a young age. You've got it all right - persevere in your fight against PMO and you can avoid the stupid things many of the rest of us have done.

What does "all these things shall be added unto you" sound like to you?
It sounds to me like one very amply awesome promise.

Exactly! We need the full armor of God if we want to succeed.

    Ephesians 6:11-13

"Put on the full armor of God, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore, take up the full armor of God, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day, and having done everything, to stand firm."

You are promised that God will take care of you and that even through the storms of life, you won't have to worry because the Father will always be taking care of you. He will supply every need in your life if you seek him first and his righteousness. Basically he promises that you won't have to worry because God will supply.

This is a great verse I believe in explaining it

    Philippians 4:19
And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Here is some context to the passage you are referring to

    Mathew 6:31-34
Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ The Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.“Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.

    Hope that helped!

You are right in saying that this isn't a religious site but the Bible has quite a lot to say about PMO even though it doesn't say it directly. PMO isn't just a physical issue... it is a moral and spiritual one.

Thank you so much! Yes I'm 14. Being a teenager at this time is both a blessing and a curse. This website is a great resource and it has such a wonderful community. I am very thankful. Thank God that he is gracious and forgiving because of all the stupid things I do. Today I relapsed and it was horrible because after I had been tempted and MOed, I realized that I didn't even pray for Christ's strength. Never once did I even THINK about asking God for his help. No wonder I couldn't do it. I'm far too weak on my own.

This verse is sums it up pretty perfectly I think. The flesh IS weak.

    Mark 14:38
"Keep watching and praying that you may not come/enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."

You're right! It is an awesome promise. The promise is that we won't have to worry about about earthly needs because the Father in heaven provides all things. That is of course if we seek God first and his righteousness.

    Here is the full passage.

    Mathew 6:31-34
Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ The Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. Woah same.. I am 15 myself and after failing quite a while, I found the root cause and am working towards repairing it. I never knew my ability to get distracted would come in use for once lol and yeah being at this age is more of a blessing as not PMOing is harder at this age so you become to preservere and you have more self-control as well as a go at conquering life faster than others.
