I was just thinking that comic books are a hobby of mine, but that clearly has a very dangerous area that I can get myself into trouble with if I'm not careful with it. Does anyone have any hobbies or interests that they've either had to be very careful around or just plain walk completely away from due to the danger of sexual temptation?
Collecting/listening to music. After a year clean, even the Classical music covers were triggering. (I have a thing for women who play musical instruments, I guess ) I got triggered a couple times on Qobuz because they show the new releases for all genres before I can switch it to classical - and some of those covers had me trying to shake off the image for days. -EK
For me , similar to above , certain types of music can arouse unwanted instincts. Especially modern music today, with their associated depraved music videos. I'll go on the offense by listening to some older music, or nice classical pieces that just feel pure. Think Vivaldi or Beethoven or Elgar's "Nimrod". This led me to a realization that beauty Is a tool in my arsenal against the powers of darkness and habits of the flesh. It's hard to succumb to urges and triggers when something truly beautiful and good enters the picture. I think the notion of awe or majesty is in there. Beauty will save the World.
Not much really. I've stopped scrolling my Facebook feed which is due in part to the reel videos that appear on it. IDK I find I only get triggered when I'm in a certain mindset so there isn't a lot I've had to give up.
