Not going to lie, this may come from a place of pride or codependency. But it seems that my friends from church that I’ve asked for accountability partners seem lacking in that department. chock it up to inexperience as we are all learning how to do it. But I feel that I may be a better at serving it than what I’m receiving. I catch myself thinking if I got asked to hold someone accountable, I’d run down a well defined list of checkins and evaluations. What ideas do y’all have to encourage my friends to go deeper in offering me accountability?
The only thing that has ever worked for me is to model to others in my own behavior what I would like to see from them. If they're not mature enough yet to reciprocate, that's fine. I just find other APs. Places like this help put us in touch with a wide and deep pool of them!
