I just heard about the blue lagoon movie, and read the summary of it. Really freaking disgusting if you ask me. It reminded me of one reason people are so obsessed with doing it: media romanticizes it. Movies and TV shows romanticize it, and the porn industry capitalizes on it and makes it addictive. All in all, it makes it look amazing which leads to people wanting to do it more. And when they begin doing it and loving it, they create things like hookups, friends with benefits relationships and swinger events.
a huge part of the culture in the west is selling the lie that "people love it." like Pstars smiling through a brutal scene, or lonely ass people wanting to make a family but all they get is hookup sex. Ive met SO many people in hookup culture, FWB, and some sex industry. NONE of them have been flourishing from it or what I would call "happy." Masturbating with a stranger (hookup culture) to "get your needs met" is not sexual liberation. Its a pathetic waste of time. Dont buy the lie and the marketing. Make a better life for yourself with emotional bonds, spiritual and romantic connections that last and fill your hearts with love and joy and affection
