Have you considered going on a date? I made this habit of asking girls out on dates (using fb, tinder etc) when urges are too strong. I figure if I have all this sexual energy built up and have nowhere else to put it, I might as well put where it belongs before I lose my mind. A flashlight in my opinion is just a substitute for your hand, and while in the act you'll be just fantasizing. This might hinder the recovery process because you'll still associating O with self stimulation and fantasy, instead of it being the epitome of attraction and chemistry with another person.
I could not have put it better. I actually believe that it is harder if you focus on the whole time (90 days) and count every day instead of just going in steps like a week and not really worrying about the number of days. When I started my 90 days the counter was broken, so I wrote the date I would be finished in my signature and never bothered with it again. I did a journal with regular updates. At first I wanted to do daily but it was mostly every sunday unless something noteworthy came up and then every time (even every sunday) I had to rtecount how at many days I was. Personally, a big step for me was blocking me from all porn. For me that meant deleting my collection (all of it, no exception). I never was the online stream kinda porn guy. So if you collect images, delete them. It's a lot like smoking and as long as there are some in your house, you'll eventually succumb to the urge. If you browse online, use a blocking software to keep you from it. Otherwise, like covert said, I also started with "just" 30 days and when I got there, another 30 was actually way too easy. 60 - 90 was a struggle again at some point but that was my own fault. Keep up and stay strong.
