Didymus must embark on a self improvement journey. This thread is to aid that journey. It is not a log. It is a self improvement thread. It is where Didymus discusses becoming a better person and touches on topics like health, fitness, dating advice, socializing, spirituality, cooking, and things like that.
Addiction thrives on feelings of powerlessness and helplessness. Before this journey starts Didymus wants to remind you of something, "Man’s true place in the Cosmos is that of a king, not a slave, a commander under the Law of Good, and not a helpless tool in the region of evil. Man is a master. If he were not, he could not act contrary to law. Evil and weakness are self destructive. The universe is girt with goodness and strength, and it protects the good and the strong. The angry man is the weak man."
Let's start with the basics of nutrition. Didymus considers his mind an encyclopedia, as should you. With the internet we literally are connected to encyclopedias of information. Didymus is here to discuss but not to learn. Didymus didn't come to NoFap to learn. He came to use it to help his own progress. Didymus knows all he needs to on these topics. Before the discussion begins one more passage of guidance for this journey, "Cherish your visions; cherish your ideals; cherish the music that stirs in your heart, the beauty that forms in your mind, the Loveliness that drapes your purest thoughts, for out of them will grow all delightful conditions, all heavenly environment; of these, if you will remain true to them, your world will at last be built. Guard well thy mind, and, noble, strong, and free, Nothing shall harm, disturb or conquer thee; For all thy foes are in thy heart and mind, There also thy salvation thou shalt find."
Didymus was going to touch on supplements vs. herbs first. He's done them all. Nootropics, drugs, synthetic supplements of various kinds, and also the holistic side of it. Didymus is a holistic type person and shuns synthetic supplements. Didymus is not looking to argue but will rather base his views upon established research. Interjected on the journey will be various passages from old to ancient texts. Out with the modern, IN WITH THE OLD! Didymus doesn't trust the current age material because there is too much interest in self and profit. "Dream lofty dreams, and as you dream so shall you become. Your vision is the promise of what you shall one day be; your Ideal is the prophecy of what you shall at last unveil. The greatest achievement was at first and for a time a dream. The oak sleeps in the acorn; the bird waits in the egg; and in the highest vision of the soul a waking angel stirs. Your circumstances may be uncongenial, but they shall not long remain so when you perceive an Ideal and strive to reach it."
TCM and Ayruvedic medicine. How glorious they are. Chinese and Indian herbs. Superb plant materials indeed. Western medicine is great for emergencies. That's about it. Synthetic drugs and supplements are good for profit and side effects. That's about it. We'll get to the specifics tomorrow.
My sources for this section will be taken from a documentary called What The Health. Btw I'm not here to chat so excuse me working around people's posts.
Because Didymus has done so all his life. Didymus is a role playing character my friend. A role playing character manned by someone whom does not refer to themselves in the third person away from this forum. I'm sorry if that sounds bizarre.
Didymus is going on spring break. When he gets back, What The Health is something he will be basing his claims off references from in the synthetic vs. goodness section of this thread. But no breaking from recovery. Hell no. Ain't no break from NoFap progress friends unless you want life to suck.
