How can we prove it was PMO that caused this? Without a series of professionals conducting tests, we can only speculate what caused the personality change. So what should he do now?
I started at about 15, I didn't hit puberty until quite late. I never escalated and tbh most of the time it was to softcore pics, though I did watch a lot of regular porn too. You will probably think oh that's not so bad then but the level of arousal I felt just from some pics was abnormally high and it stayed like that all the way up until I quit. I don't know why I didn't become desensitised, I watched the same kind of content for hours every day for almost 15 years. Once I stopped I flatlined and been in it ever since.
Why does anyone ask anything on this site? For support and to share experiences that could help each other I would suspect. This thread is three years old by the way. I'm 11 months PMO free.
Have you read our texts? Our personalities have changed in a short time after doing PMO. What more proof do you need? Are you a troll? Seriously...
First off that was awesome news dude I hope you get better at your life, you did it my friend! I think the point that most people missing here is that "What you consume is what you become" You only become a beta male if you choose to be one, likewise basically in the older age, Alpha males usually got all the females and the betas were just there observing the process might've the sloppy seconds, well it's the same shit with PMO, you are training your brain to be a beta male, When you do this for prolonged time I guess this will rewire your natural response to the nature, like you have beta actions, beta voice everything about you is just submissive. Also I've read some stuff about neuroplasticity, Which suggest that PMO can rewire your brain's reward system.
(Edit) just realizing this thread age and how OP is on streaks. Awesome! Get on some streaks and slowly move away from PMO one step at a time. I’d recommend monk mode. You will get your default personality back. It’s going to take time and effort. Be patient and don’t be discouraged. I was into this habit for the better part of three decades and decided enough was enough about seven years ago. It’s been a rough ride but I’m a much different person today compared to what I had become with constant MO and PMO.
I’d say porn contributed to this.. before porn, you wanted to find joy and happiness by going out of the house and being with people but after you found porn and the secret pleasures of PMO, you no longer had the inner drive to want to leave the house… you were already satisfied from a purely instinctual standpoint I’ve experienced a similar situation in my own life as well.. porn and masturbation really do drain the energy out of us, and takes away our “fighting spirit”, so instead we just become a hermit crab.. only leaving our house to do the basic necessities like food and work, and then we go back home
Holy s***… yea I guess it is true what you are saying - rewiring the brain to be a beta male… this stuff is truly sadistic and harmful, geeze
I hate it when people do that sort of thing. Why revive a thread that's three years old and is no longer relevant?
Someone will get something out of it at the very least. It saves having to create multiple threads on the same topic.
I relate. I used to be very popular-kinda outgoing in high school -had a few flings- but once I found prn in college I tended to be more closed off and felt like every social interaction was forced. Dating has been zilch ever since. I feel like I’m to uptight/serious.
I relate myself to almost every single you people here. I started PMO at an early age, 11. Before discovering this, I was a child that enjoyed to play with others, watch cartoons, go outside everyday, I couldn't imagine staying in the house for a whole day, it was boring for me. Now I'm almost 18 and I can't believe how I changed myself so drastically, going outside became something almost impossible for me now, I don't have any friends anymore and the worst thing is, I created all of this with my own hand. I started practising karate at 15, but I didn't change too much in this period, maybe just a bit, but I didn't pay too much attention to my transformation...
yes pmo is one of the big contributors that led to downwards spiral effect it’s quite common. but when you quit and clean up your life you will go back to old ways. trust and believe bc i’m speaking from personal experience after 2 years clean
