Yesterday I watched this documentary about how bad the therapy is on BetterHelp and how reluctant they are to give refunds. At one point I was seriously considering using them but now I'm glad I didn't.
Here a psychologist talks about the app. She takes a more nuanced view compared to other criticisms but it still makes me think you're better off seeing a therapist face-to-face.
I remember when YouTuber's were shilling this service, and it blew up in their faces when it turned out to be terrible. I think therapy can be a waste of time anyway unless you get a good therapist/psychiatrist (easier said than done) but doing it online seems even more pointless.
Online therapy should've been a major red flag itself, considering the isolation of the modern world is probably heavily responsible for how unhappy people have become especially in the last 20 years.
Some of their podcast episodes have been posted in this forum. They recently had an episode where they discussed if porn should be illegal.
