Hello people. I am 38 days free from PMO, which is the longest since I got hooked to internet porn in 99. I am a Christian, and it feels great to be free from bondage. The enemy tried to attack me the other day. A good friend/mentor of mine, who I dearly respect asked to borrow my camera. Mind you, he has let me use his gear completely free of charge, stay at his house, etc. He asked me if he could use my camera, initially I said yes. I ask him for what, and he says it is NSFW. He tells me he is to film a podcast about porn stars. Mind you, I was in a class at church at this time, and my heart sank. Earlier last year he asked me to be a part of a burlesque show crew. I told him no, even though the money was great. He replied that he has helped me in many ways and just needed this one favor and not to ask him for any more. I can’t front, I’m hurt, but stood my ground with my faith. Does anyone have any similar stories?
I would have stood my ground with my faith as you did while repeating that I would help with anything except what interfers with my faith.
Good that you stood your ground brother. Years ago my wife suggested us to watch porn to "improve our sex life". I was strictly against it knowing that my porn consumption is the reason why our sex life is bad.
Thanks guys! I am now on day 61 of hard mode. One thing I noticed is that I am craving sugar to get that dopamine rush. What is hard is I am a photographer who has worked with dancers and sometimes they post some photos that are revealing. Once they do, I just mute their stories and post. My friend and I met and it was all good. I can honestly say that opening up to three church brothers helped. I see how PMO is succumbing to the flesh and it stole my drive. For most of my adult life I would quit when things got hard, fap, then be comatose. It can also lead to codependent behavior. I remember how I could not get hard unless I PMO’d, now I can do it with imagining. However, I must be vigilant because Satan can use that for relapse. Also, look up Dr. Trish Leigh on youtube. She breaks down the science of porn brain. Even though most of us aren’t scientists, some of the anecdotal experiences line up with science. I’m eager to see how I grow in the next 30.
