where to begin............ i recall being in 5th grade and being punished for bringing old porn mags i foound in a abandoned trailer and brought them to school one day. didnt have hairs on my balls so no payoff. got my first comptuer with internet connection at 13. been watching porn ever since. Catholic. Been Catholic since 2011. I;m in the confessional for fapping or mouthing offf. same story told every time. it needs to stop. I need help. It's an addiction that I have. I'd like to be a simple Religious brother. Franciscans or Carthusians. I cannot do that nor raise family nor become priest if I cannot beat this addiction. It needs to stop. Its time I quit. I want to do this thing.
It's great to read that you are thinking about becoming a brother. Even if you decide against it, it's very beneficial to learn about and practice aspects of the lifestyle right away. Especially as you overcome this addiction, God is present in the struggle. Grace is given to defeat these very kinds of problems and setbacks. I'm sure you've already surfed to many Franciscan websites and the like. Download the Rule, study it, absorb it. Also, the Benedictine Rule is excellent. It's a GREAT idea to pray the Liturgy of the Office. You can get that on your cell phone too. Prayer, contemplation, spiritual work, volunteering for your favorite causes, all these are incredible things to do. Peace out.
