How long will it take to recover?

    P/M

  2. I have read that after 21 days all of the physical withdrawal symptoms are gone. I have also read that it takes 21 days to change a habit, and 42 days to reinforce that change of habit.

As far as completely recovering, that is a tough question. We are always going to have at least some form of desire for sex. To completely quit PMO/MO though, that will mean you just never do it again.

One way to tell if you are recovering is by analyzing your thought patterns and emotions. If you are no longer fantasizing, or very little fantasizing, then that is a good sign you are recovering.

But there are people who have quit PMO for years, and then relapsed, and then fell back into the cycle of relapses. So we are never going to be 100% safe from a relapse. Maybe another way of see if you are recovered is by how strongly you are clinging to pornography. If you miss porn, and are always desiring to see porn videos, then you are still addicted to porn.

So the question of when you are recovered.... it depends on what goes on inside your mind. Some people can perhaps be completely cured after 50 days, and some people, if they are still fantasizing all the time, are still not recovered after 100 days of quitting.

But I would say, after 21 days, your body is recovered. But how many days until your mind is recovered, that is a different story.

  5. Well, I do not know the science behind it. But I would say its just our thoughts. I don't know the exact relationship between the brain and thoughts. But I think thoughts have a lot to do with it.

I'm not recovered myself, so I really don't know. I'm still learning and trying to break completely free as well

as Muslim the quran stops these thoughts alot my mind is clear after when I have the quran however you need to combine that with fasting and works beautifully but it has to be done for life as it is a life time commitment.

    Define “recover.”

  8. Nice, yea I’ve read the Quran multiple times before. Reading the verses definitely did help with seeing the bigger picture and not feeling like I’m missing out by not having sex all the time. Made me think more about God’s plan for this life, and got my mind off of feeling jealous about other peoples sexual experiences
