I've got a gut that's been over-worked overtime from all the coffee, smoking and alcohol throughout my twenties. I'm thirty now, and I'm much more willing and able to curb the hard stuff of vice, but man.. I still find myself depending on the ole black gold, Texas tea to keep me teetering vertical, and more or less balanced as I work through my day. I drink about a standard pour over of a roast that's dark as night, and will sometimes will also have some pretty potent Matcha in the afternoons. Any users of Mate out there? I've heard that's a good substitute for coffee too. Primary question though; What's your daily intake of caffeine, and in what form? And if you've set a daily limit, why? What negative consequences does going beyond your self-imposed standard lead to? (And if you don't drink caffeine, and are still reading... How?!)
I get max. 3 espresso a day, no sugar and no milk in it. I need to say that coffeeine does not work for me, I could drink it before going to sleep and wouldn't make me active, I'll sleep like a baby. Sometimes 1,2,4, but more than 4 no, usually getting them because we do pauses at work and I don't want to drink something else like Coca Cola or other trash drinks. I don't belive in the addiction thing since as I wake up I don't think to get a coffee at all, It could pass 2-3 hours before get the first one, sometime I even miss to get one. This for me is how you should hack the addiction, there is many people addicted to cigs that cannot contain themself, other that can smoke like 1 cig for day and don't have impulse to smoke, this is what I call a win. Usually people arround the world does not drink espresso but that mere water-soup, I don't like it, in fact for me is disgusting,
One mug of coffee in the morning and, if I am really dragging, I'll grab another one early afternoon. Before that, I had stopped altogether for a few months when my stomach and GI tract started complaining. I had been drinking three or four mugs a day. Then I started my current routine.
0mg Caffeine causes me intense paranoia and anxiety. Its wakefulness only lasts for an hour but the side effects last all day and interrupt my sleep quality. I like black coffee and cappuccinos but unfortunately its something I have to avoid
Avoiding as long as i could, for a while i only ingest caffeine when i'm drinking coke/pepsi. I discovered that caffeine messes up with me and i took the decision of erase coffee from my meals.
I have a small cup of coffee in the morning and sometimes a cup of tea later on but thats not always caffeinated
For some reason caffeine doesn't work as a stimulant for me, instead it makes me tired and gives me headaches. So I almost never drink anything containing it.
Less than 25 mg/day . . . which means only decaf. Technically I could drink one of those mini cans of coke. At times I used to ingest 500mg/day or more. Years ago, my habit was a small pot of coffee in the morning, a 12oz black coffee from Starbucks in the afternoon and 2 excederine for migraines. I got headaches all the time and would often nap right after drinking that coffee from Starbucks. When I looked at how much caffeine I was ingesting, I was shocked to see it as close to 500 mg/day! I've been off and on caffeine ever since. I love coffee. But for me, it leads to anxiety and relapse with masturbation. It seems the older I get, the more prone I am to drinking even more coffee when I start feeling jittery and anxious. That's my addict mind, wanting to get as crunk as possible. Also, I found that soda led to health problems and drinking coffee led me to over indulge on sugar and other simple carbs. Now I'm hooked on decaf coffee. I sleep better. I get less headaches. But I still need to curb my intake of decaf and my other substitute: chocolate. Note: Contrary to popular belief, chocolate does not have caffeine - it has theobromine (3,7- dimethylxanthine) which is a derivative of caffeine and has much less potent effects.
I lean towards dark (though milk chocolate is even harder to control). I can eat it all . . . until it's all gone. Generally, I prefer 70 - 90%
I forgot about coke. I probably have that more than coffee but only now and again. It's usually those tiny cans that have. Nowadays large cans or bottles have a bad effect on me.
I also found my worse binges have been the result of caffeine consumption. Ironically the only caffeinated drink Ive ever been able to handle has been redbull.
Well, right now I'm fasting from coffee (for Lent). It's been brutal at times because, before Lent, I would drink coffee 5-6 times per week. You just have to find something to take the edge off when the caffeine cravings arise. Do something that requires concentration, aside from viewing porn or masturbating, of course. You just set your mind on something else.
I drink a green tea before 1pm only. Once these run out I will quit even that. It can be uncomfortable to go without it for a few days, but I've never gotten hooked on caffeine in the way some others do. Coffee makes me sick, so I don't drink it often.
probably around 30-40 mg total. A very, very small amount of instant coffee in the morning, and then a little bit of zero sugar coke or pepsi in the afternoon.. like about 1/4th of a 16oz bottle soda if I drink too much caffeine then I get anxiety
Lol... Water-soup.. The nice thing bout it is that you can kinda slow-drip it into your system, spread out the benefits, but yeah, espresso rocks
I think I'm in the same boat- just lack the willpower to curb... I've been doing one green tea AM/wk, best I can manage now, good on ya for cutting out what doesn't serve ya
