I realize that I am placing value on the wrong thing when it comes to this porn addiction.

I value the anticipation of what possible benefits I’m going to reap as an end result from nofap rather than accepting the journey itself which is why I relapse every time even after a long streak. Expectations that I will gain something from nofap is my downfall and sets me up for a relapse when my expectations aren’t satisfied. This is not the way to go with this addiction.

Instead, Nofap is a lifestyle that I must commit to. Not a milestone that I can check off and be done with it after reaching a number of days. This is for life, to truly quit porn and masturbation, I must accept this is the way it’ll be for life. No porn or masturbation for life. The only way is a lifetime long streak. Now the only step is to let go of porn and start the journey…

I agree. A lot is written and talked about when it comes to resetting and rebooting, how our brains heal and coming through brain fog. Those things are great.

But not much is said about what nofap gives you today. More creativity, energy, time, connection to real life humans. I'm one year into this journey and have a lot more problem solving ability about personal stuff.
