I apologize if the other post I made is considered triggering to some users here. This one will not contain any triggering text on here.

I wonder if the more pornography you watch. The more it can change your perspective on everything else, not just women. I've been getting this assumption that I don't see a lot of things the same way I used to think about any more and I know that is how it seems but I find it difficult to believe.

We all know it can definitely destroy your perspective on women or men, depending on your sexuality and all. You would start seeing them as objects and not as people. It would take time to undo that change and start seeing them a new better way. But can it change or ruin any thing else you see, and how you view it?

Well, personally for me it hasn't changed anything else besides my perspective on women or men and sexuality. Those views are skewed and need healing. But if I were to actually think hard enough, maybe P changed and altered my views on society. Like, the way society behaves as a whole because of porn's influence. It is truth that society is changed and sculpted by it, but my own perspective once was that "nobody cares". But after reading about NoFap on reddit and joining here, I realized that people do care out there. It's just not as popular as it should be, probably because people are brainwashed into thinking there's nothing wrong, but that's another subject.

Someone described porn as like crack cocaine to the male psyche. It's a proven fact that porn changes brain chemistry, at least for a period of time. So based purely on chemistry, porn is mind-altering & will therefore warp the users view of reality to some extent.

Yes, it can change your perspective on everything. The natural perspective is outward orientated. We should be gravitating towards relationships with those around us. The unnaturalness of porn, its 'perversion'[its turning away] can be both the cause and culmination of inwardness; I am disconnected from others, and alienated from the world, so I increasingly seek solace in a purely private pleasure. Porn should be understood as not just a private problem, but a public one. And not because if we all collectively used P 24/7 society would collapse, but because the public sphere has become so impoverished today that many are retreating inwards in order to escape from the perceived meaninglessness of it all.

I still don't think they care. I think they're just pretending to care for facebook likes.

Yes. Not acting out to porn means that I am a nicer person. However I see life as better, I do not over react or let things bother me as much. I've more lust for life and the difference can be how I view a list of jobs that need doing. In addition it's like too daunting, in sobriety its OK I will make a start doing this and see what I can get done.

In addiction I am a bit of an arse really
