Does edging count?

    So, I started a 1 month NoFap challenge (currently on day 3) and I wanted to know people's opinion on ''edging''.
    Do you guys think that counts? is that a fail or not?

    Ok, I learned my lesson, so I should just do it today and restart the challenge, right?

    I am not sure what you mean exactly. :confused: I strongly recommend you do not edge or masturbate. Fight to keep clear of it!

    In my opinion ... yes, it is a fail if your goal is to quit porn forever, and are still struggling with the urge to PMO. Stop doing it for a good long length of time (ymmv).

    For me, my desire is to create an awesome, perfect bond with my wife during our love making. She is my fantasy, a real body and mind, and she's the one I'm focused on. So I practice. I edge to control my "fire" and make sure she "boils" before I ejaculate. Her orgasm is my life force and that really get us both off in many more ways than the big O. I don't edge every day, or that often, but I like to be aware of my heightened state of arousal before I reach the point of no return, or it's a let down for us both. Maybe one day I'll be in such great control, I won't feel the need to edge, but in the meantime I'm practicing to make perfect.

    I'd reset your counter if you have been edging to p-subs or looking at porn. Your reboot really won't do much to help if you are edging + other stuff all the time. Give yourself a fair shot and avoid all of that.

    It is one thing if you glance at p-sub or brief look at porn for a few seconds. I might not reset my main PMO counter for that, but if you are edging every night and looking at what might as well be porn, then a reset is a very good idea in my opinion. I am pretty sure my current 65 days wouldn't be worth anything fighting PMO if I edged and looked at p-subs often during it. All it would do is train my mind not to have an orgasm. You need time away from the pixels to reboot effectively and edging is a big dopamine hit.

    Edit: just noticed you are only three days in. I wouldn't reset the main PMO counter so long as you can learn from this and proceed correctly (if you didn't know and are brand new then why reset?) If you still try to edge despite knowing it is bad, then reset immediately.

    Well, I'm not really addicted to P thankfully, and I don't feel bad when I M like a lot of people I've seen here, I'm just experimenting because I want to see the changes this will cause in me, so for now my goal is only 30 days.
    But yeah, I decided to reset it and I'll see what happens. I'll also do more than 30 days if I feel like it.
