Sex addiction is just as bad as porn addiction, if not worse

  1. I don't even need to watch that video to point out that you can become addicted to anything. Sex can absolutely be an addiction for some people, just as the many sex addicts on this very site.

They actually talk a bit about SLA and the love addiction part and if you love your dog you could be a love addict lol. What he’s pointing out is that it is more of a compulsion to an addiction and when treated as such has more success.

Good question which has bugged me for a while and made me question my therapist a lot. But because she’s been the most helpful i have always wondered what her point was. They are both words that seem to have different and very similar explanations and she said if I want to call it an addiction that’s fine. But her being a highly qualified and a popular psychologist specialising in kinks and psychosexual practise kind of though well she’s better trained than me and plus 8 years of sex addiction recovery attempts and still not getting it made me want answers. What I’m taking from it personally is someone with OCD could have a strong urge to get up go outside and touch a leaf or do a bit of a ritual that they feel they must do. I’d would say that’s very different from a chemical dependency

So what I've learned is that you think your therapist is muy sexy and also that addiction is chemical while compulsion is psychological. Definitely think it can be both but does tend to lean compulsive in most cases of sexual "addiction."

lol, no I don’t see my psychologist like that. I experienced transference with an “addictions” therapist before but all of that was quite confusing plus a months worth of built up jizz and interaction with a blonde woman flicking her hair about could do that.
The psychologist was in another league skill wise but I always questioned this theory. Plus I’ve quit other addictions and the craving dies off. We’re always going to want sex it’s how we were designed what’s the point in shaming ourselves for being designed and powered that way?

Huh, I hadn't heard that analogy before. It fits my view nicely though, I'll try to remember it. [IMG]
    She might have a point.
The podcast is not very attractive, though. [IMG]
