    Day 3 - Youngling

I've started a daily prayer practice in my mornings. Whatever faith you have, I think this is a great thing do to do in the morning before starting your day. Really sets your mind for what's important in your life.

If you don't have a faith, maybe recite the Jedi Code, thinking of yourself as a Jedi meditating being at one with the Force. I also light incense and ring a small bell which I think helps to settle my mind.

Alright it will be day 6 for me tomorrow, last day as a youngling. I've been slowly losing excess fat and working towards my other goals.

Gonna get in the best shape of my life soon.
    changing read instead of tv.
and finally bringing some good ideas to life instead of just fantasizing.

Hello everyone, Im back to this group , right now I find myself on a 4 days streak, i havent posted in a while, but I have been practicing nofap during this last year, my longest streak this year was 20 days this year. I have to admit that when we do nofap, our life changes, I have also to agree, that sex with a real women is different than nofap to a porn video. I need the strength of nofap and the jedi temple to destroy my exams and a chess tourney i have very soon. Wish me luck

    Day 7 - Padawan

Alright I'm back to padawan status. That being said I've only relapsed once in the past 3 weeks so that's pretty good. I was having triggering pmo thoughts yesterday and again I think it was because of the sexual jokes that my coworkers have been saying. That is unfortunate and I wish we had higher standards for the workplace. Some of the guys really act like 5 year olds who discovered for the first time that sex exists.

Other than that I'm looking forward to my gym session with my personal trainer today after work. And thankfully I'm getting better from the flue that I had so I've been able to go back to working out.

Also I'm reminiscing about the first two seasons of the Mandalorian. That's some of the best TV I've ever seen. I have this image of Mando in my mind where he was on Tatooine and he had his ship taken apart by Jawas. Him and that ugnot guy were traveling at a slow pace and Mando on the back of the trailer. That scene with the music was perfect. I felt like it set up the struggle that he was going through and his will to not give up. Just like we have a will to not give up here. I think its useful to think about our favourite scenes from the Star Wars universe as motivation to keep going in our personal endeavors in our lives.

Good luck with your efforts. 20 days is a pretty long time to abstain from pmo so you got it in you. There is a piece of advice I might be able to give. Overcoming this addiction means a change in lifestyle. When ever I tried to do nofap for a specific goal, such as being more mentally prepared for school, or to be more attractice to women it just doesn't work out because at that point I'm not really doing it for me. I hope this helps.

Guys I had a thought maybe others would be interested in. @-Angel- you've been around for a long time like myself now. We've built up some report. What do you think of having a voice chat sometime? Other guys can get in on it as well. I'd figure that actually having a more solid community here would be more supportive with doing something like voice calls.

That is one of my favourite scenes as well. Qui Gon, who might as well be my favorite Jedi, stays very calm in the midst of a very hard fight. He catches his breath when he can and doesn't become consumed by fear or anger. Darth Mall on the other hand consumed by his anger amps himself up all the time.

I think that you can still write just in a different way. Rather than stating what you plan to achieve, write instead positive affirmations and the things you are doing now to be successful in nofap.

    Day 8 - Padawan

Last night I was having trouble with triggering pmo thoughts. I'm not really sure if there is a whole lot we can do about those thoughts coming. The challenge is to figure out how to deal with them when they come. I've been trying this Buddhist technique with some success. When having sexual thoughts you then voluntarily imagine gross or decaying bodies. The idea is to create a feeling of disgust inside yourself that replaces the feelings of sexual tension. And then move on with your life once you've passed that. Last night though I forgot to do that and I was struggling more than I needed. I tried to focus on reading a book but the pmo thoughts kept coming back. Thankfully I was tired enough so I went to sleep.

This morning I'm focusing on having a peaceful routine. Doing this journaling here with a hot cup of coffee strained in a French press. I also lit some intense, rang a meditation bell and said a prayer. Like that image of Qui Gon that @JEDI KNIGHT shared I think it's a great thing to aim to be calm like Qui Gon. Having a calm mind, pmo thoughts have nothing to grab onto inside of us. That takes a lot of practice though and self discipline. So being realistic in this endeavor is important and to realize that most people actually don't have much power over their own minds because it takes so much discipline, perseverance, and dedication. I would say that if you have a thought that you are worse than most other people because you have this addiction I would say get rid of that thought. Most other people have some kind of addiction that they are struggling with, and that most people don't do anything about it.

You are here in the arena fighting for a better life for yourself. You're not turning away and quitting when you make a mistake. You get back up and keep going towards the goal of overcoming this addiction, which ultimately means making your life better and making yourself into a better person that you can be proud of. Think of the most influential scene or character from the Star Wars universe. Like Qui Gon being calm in the midst of battle. Or Mando struggling for his honor. For me thinking about them fills me with emotion. Looking at them and the way that I feel tells me that I want to act like they do. That there is a much better and more meaningful life than what I am told by most people around me. For myself I don't want to copy how everyone around me acts because it's not heroic. I want to emulate Qui Gon and Mando. There is nothing as satisfying to turn a drab and dreary job into the means for a meaningful life. To climb out of the pit of meaninglessness, and to create a life for yourself that is filled with meaning. And that you did it all yourself.

Maybe in the future, when I've built up more of a streak that I'm happy with, and I feel I could offer advice based on what's worked for me. :)
