Day 5/30. Yesterday was a challenging day. I would probably have let loose on many dopamine-inducing activities if it wasn't for this challenge. Not PMO, but probably TV and music and such. Stay tough.
Day 6/30. I've been struggling with not watching any TV. I've had some minor slip ups and I've seen about four 20 minute episodes in the last 48 hours. I will not reset for the time being, as I see it a minor incident. If it persists, I will reset. Otherwise it would merely be a learning opportunity and an exercise in self control. My desire for watching comes mostly from a desire for escapism, rather than dopamine craving. Either way it interferes with my goals and need to cease. I'm ready to reset, if needed.
Day 7/30. I seem to have been able to put a lid on my cravings for now. Let's keep walking, brothers.
Day 8/30.Had an ice cold shower this morning due to a broken boiler. I've been having semi-cold showers, keeping the temperature around 20-25. This was a shocker, but oddly enough it felt good afterwards. The broken boiler may have been the kick in the pants I needed to go fully ice cold.
Day 20/30 No intentional music ( can't force someone else to switch off music at there place) No youtube (apart from NoFap recovery) No socials (whatsapp for study purposes) No TV serials( except on one day watched an inspiration story of a girl) This dopamine detox actually supplements our nofap journey.. It really helps us to repel from instant gratification and pmo/MO is a form of instant gratification.. Will provide final results for dopamine detox once I complete 30 days...
I am planning to do this life long, not only for a couple of days. So I don't quit music. But I already started it a few days ago and I already feel much better. And I mean, imensely better. I quit Youtube, junk food, a german image board similar to 9gag, video games, reddit, WhatApp (exept once a day, can't get completely shut off), Amazon Prime Videos and even News. It is hard, but totally worth it. I always tell me "I might want to play a video game, or eat unhealthy. But do I want to be that guy, that plays video games in order to escape reality? And do I want to be that guy that eats unhealthy? No." I even quit NoFap to some extent. Only checking in at the evening and then logging of. It can consume a lot of time aswell.
@Bihari I am in abstaining from 0,2,3,5,8 + TV(watching TV is just waste of time)+ unnecessary internet surfing DAY 0 I hope this will help me get better in my studies
I completed day 22/30 no youtube, no music.. But on day 23 I binged on music for 2 days like anything due to extreme stress ..... And i really regret it I got such a low productivity No youtube +social media still remains intact but I guess I failed the challenge Anyways day 25/30 no youtube +TV serials +Netflix +social media apart from whatsapp which I really need at this moment
Hi guys. So i participated in this challenge i think a month ago. And once i completed it i was going fine until few weeks later i failed to keep up and crashed down to the old same habits again. I did try to detox on my own, but that's not effective. I'm going to join this challenge again @Bihari and this time the plan is different. This time it's more of a schedule implementation. I'll be doing a dopamine detox for 90 days. And hopefully check in daily. But i'll be doing it in 30,30,30 fashion. MONTH 01 - Abstaining entirely from 1,5,6,7. - Abstaining from 2,3 and the internet in general with limits. @Bihari pl remove me from the 30+ days list. Thanks.
Day 0 Sugar is addictive. So, added that to my list. Will be applying my one day at a time rule here as well. So, got to do this for next 24 hours.
Day 0 of my second attempt. I'm avoiding activities 0-7 including. I will maintain relations with my gf, although we live apart and due to covid we can't meet very often. Godspeed!
