I've been on this nofap journey for awhile and I realized boredom is one of my biggest triggers for pmo... I don't really do social media never got hooked on them..but I was wondering if I created a Twitter or Instagram would those be beneficial to do instead of watching porn.. I know it's sorta an addiction in itself. Instagram probably would worsen my porn addiction so maybe a Twitter since I like writing, where I could vent and read other people's tweets when I'm bored to keep me away from porn??

Looking for comfort within social media is a very bad idea. You have to be honest with yourself. Are you really just bored? If that's the case, then why not pick up a book, exercise, play a sport or a video game, etc? But ofcourse, if you were only simply bored, then you would have already thought of those things. Therefore, I think there is another issue at hand. Now I don't know who you are, only you do, but the fact that you want to go to social media as a coping mechanism shows to me that you have somethings which you need other people's advice and input for. Social Media is not the place to have real interaction with people. You need to talk to your family, friends, religious leaders of your respective faith, and therapists. Social Media should only be used for simple fun, and not something you should depend on at all in order to be happy. If you start relying on it, then you will start comparing yourself to others, asking people you don't really know for help, and if you choose to vent, then there is a very real chance that you can ruin your public image, since twitter is available for the whole world to see. Better yet, instead of social media, use this forum to vent, to help others, and to learn from others. Plus, you're anonymous here. In addition, talk to people in person, as nothing beats a face to face conversation.

I wish you the best of luck!
