So today I completed 15 days of nofap. I have done 14 days before, but relapse hits soon after, so this time it's a big deal. I know this is a small victory in the journey of completely eliminating the addiction, but I just wanted to mention what a blessing this has been. Just the tremendous amount of support on this forum is amazing, along with the stories, the panic button, helps one stay strong on the path to recovery. It's definitely challenging, the number of times I wanted to give in has been INSANE. I mean seriously, it's almost as if depression comes over you and you just want to do something about it (PMO), but remembering the side effects of doing so being atrocious and self-destructive is what keeps me going. The benefits so far are awesome, I am on auto pilot feeling alpha all the time. There is no need to pretend confident or try to act like a leader. I just am, without doing anything and its amazing. I am less cautious of everything (in a good way). Getting my life in order is something I still need to do, but with better focus and energy it's only a matter of time. My primary focus right now is working on my addiction. Anyways, I hope this story encourages others, the same way other people's stories have encouraged me. Look forward to hanging out at this forum for a long time. Thank you.
Good story, I'm happy for you. Interesting you are on 19-days, my record! I'm aiming for 30-days and more but now the goal is 30-days. What have you added to your life to help you get the the 19-days? I'm looking for a few tips to help me during my times of heavy urges. I'm trying to be more social, work-out, etc. My biggest time of weakness is when I'm at work, in my house, and frustrated with work. During these times of frustration I'm going to walk away from the computer and not give in to the temptation to feel better by looking at Porn. I'm on the computer all day at work. Any tips to share? Good luck, stay strong, and make your goals.
Excellent work. Little victories make you realise that you have what it takes to abstain and slowly, over time, you'll be able to hold out for longer. Finally, you'll be free of this curse and stand tall! Congratulations on the achievement. There might be a few bumps on your road ahead but remember that you're capable and that you've started which is a great great thing.
