I'm just curious how long it takes someone to beat their urges and finally be free of PMO. Is it different for everyone? Or is it a certain amount of days like 90 or 100? The longest I've gone without PMO is day 10 but as far as urges go, it's about the same for me from day 7 onwards. So yeah does anyone know? Day 7.
I haven't gone much more than 20 days … but I've been told by those with long term abstinence that yes it definitely can continue to lessen
It depends how long you have been suffering the addiction. To be free from the urges means you have been off PMO long enough to train your brain to urge/desire something else. At least six month is safe to say you will be feeling free from PMO and your desires to stop PMO is greater than to return thereto. I don't think the urge can be nullified completely because PMO desires are connected to our natural sexual desires. You still have to keep controlling your sexual desires in order to feel the biological urges diverted elsewhere. When I successfully combated my urges and abstained from PMO for 3 months straight, my urges for other things increased – such as real women, cleaning my house, studying more, going out more, losing weight, making new friends and reading new books.
Urges continue to weaken with time. First just days, then weeks, then months...etc..the longer you go, the less you want it.
I can agree with opinions mentioned above. Other desires increase and PMO decreases even though it never fully disappears. Day 80 and counting
Wait so are you telling me the way to train our mind to stay sober is to simpl becoming drawn to someone else?
