I can relate to that. Sometimes I wonder if my dad is one of the reasons why I never became addicted to smoking.

I remember smoking with some italians friends when I was 13 just to try it out. Hell, I remember thinking I was a cool guy and wishing to secretly continue smoking. What a fool I was.

And now I hate my father for doing this to himself and emptying bottles while he clearly isn't thirsty. He refuses to pass a blood test too, we're all afraid it would bring terrible news.

Best of people are those who make a mistake and learn from it. Better then these people are those who watch and learn from other people's mistake.

I understand you. I want you to try not to hate him for this because even though he is your father and has a lot of life experience I think he wasn't lucky yet to find out what he is lacking, that its not thirst but sadness or stress or something else.
