Long-term abstinence from sex is without a doubt a noble cause, but I am not sure if it is realised that it is sometimes seen as a spiritual one. While abstaining from orgasm seems straight forward it can actually create a myriad of problems for some people.

I think how people decide to live their life after recovery should totally be up to them. There is no reason to judge that.

 

What problems? Who has suffered from lack of orgasms? It's the addicts that suffer from lack of orgasms. Why do we suffer while going on a long streak but feel ok for a while after we break the streak? People are treating sex(PMO)as medication or a recreational drug. Nobody suffers from lack of orgasms. I don't want to sound spiritual but it's actually the eradication of lust that brings peace, prosperity and bliss. Now let's focus on paws.

 

Let people choose what they want to do - it is their personal choice. I am of the thought school that semen is life force and extremely powerful and is not meant to be wasted on bed sheets/condoms etc. For me, sex always had ugly repurssions on mental health (because u don't stop with 1 orgasm in 5 min - there is foreplay, edging and what not) and then that feeling is too dopaminic to try again and again
If people find sex healthy post recovery then perfectly ok .

 

Again this idealogy is something that YOU subscribe to. Please don't claim it as a general norm. Normal people have normal amounts of sex and that's completely normal. Sex one of the most basic human needs. So wanting to have a normal sexual life does NOT mean that someone is "aspiring to be a sex addict". Infact i feel wanting normal sexual functioning should be a motivation for recovery. Over indulgence to a point where one addicted is bad in terms of not just sex but anything that gives pleasure and after going through paws i feel anyone would be enough self aware to not go down that road.
But please stop saying that sex or orgasm is forbidden, it's not, you're wrong. And please stop making a big fuss about people wanting a normal sexual life, there's nothing wrong with that.

I've said before and I'll say it again, if no orgams for life or till marriage is something that you subscribe to, good for you. But don't impose it as a general norm or try to imply that this is the only right way. Not everyone will have the same perspective as you. Respect other people's choices as i am respecting yours.

If I can be brutally honest - pushing the rhetoric of complete abstinence forever is not bad per se but it can be detrimental if you do not understand the scientific and spiritual mechanics of what you are doing.

 

Guys I am not against lust or sex. Almost everyone around me is married and must be having a sex life. I too would have done that had I not been an addict way before the age of getting married. I have suffered a lot. Now I want to live a happy life. If, in the future, everything turns out to be ok then I may think of getting married but with a like minded girl only. If that doesn't happen then it's ok too. Now I want to make the most of my life. It hurts to not have a family but happiness and peace is more important than anything else for me. You guys are free to do whatever you want with your life. Sorry if I sounded harsh.

 

Arent you supposed to live with optimum hormone levels? Is it necessary to intentionally interfere with your hormone levels in the first place? There is a term called "transmutation". You might want to do some research on it.

 

But how does someone transmute sexual energy if they have no libido? You need to be able to feel the "sexual energy" to be able to get started with transmutation - even then sexual transmutation is not a straight forward and easy process.

I respect that you don't want to give in to lust or sex just for pleasure, I am simply saying to look deep into it, there are rebooters that underestimated the process, went all in with semen retention, had great benefits at first, but then had to stop because the symptoms became too negative.
