If you edge to the point where a little bit of cum leaks out, is that a relapse?

Where you edge but stop just to the point before you start erupting like Mt.Vesuvius but a little bit leaks out. Is this a relapse?

  2. Precum? That's your call. I'm going hardmode, so I'd definitely call that a relapse. We aren't just trying to avoid orgasm by doing nofap, we're trying to eliminate masturbation altogether.

On hardmode I say it's a relapse for sure.

I dunno man, if the wad wasn't blown I don't see how that's a full relapse.

  5. Was it cum or precum? If cum, 100 % a relapse even if it wasn't an explosion. You know you can orgasm without ejaculating? I've done it. You can keep it all inside.

    Not precum that's for sure.

How the hell do you orgasm without ejaculating unless you're shooting blanks.

If by edging, you mean you were masturbating on purpose, you tell me? Your terms say no masturbation, porn, or orgasm.

M means you are still spinning up all the dopamine and other hormones. If it was me, and you were intentionally edging, yeah, I'd reset the clock.

How'd you stop? That had to hurt. You would have been better off just letting the volcano erupt.

Yeah, and everyone always tells the truth on their tax forms too.

  11. What the hell...
you could change your banner to say "23 days without orgasm" then if you want to do this with such low standards.

I respect people who tell the truth on tax forms. Many people cheat it, but that doesn't mean you should too.

I always read no PMO to stand for No porn, or Masturbation til Orgasm.

I appreciate what you’re saying, but we won’t recover from our problems if we don’t learn how to be accountable to ourselves.

Granted, every person is allowed to define their own recovery (which is part of the reason I asked this and other users to determine themselves if they felt they broke their recovery terms).

That being said, the standard definitions are included here: https://www.nofap.com/rebooting/.

No PMO is considered “hard mode.” I would suggest if PM includes no M, it would be easier not more difficult if adding the O meant it was okay to edge. Rather, the O is added traditionally when someone wants to include refraining from sex with a partner for the duration of the reboot (typically around 90 days for acute symptoms).

I see so many people obsessing over if they need to reset their counters/streaks. I feel like it distracts them from the big picture. Your goal here is to become free from PMO...forever. If you are questioning if you need to reset your counter, just do it. If there's enough reason to ask, it's probably because you should reset it. But it's not the end of your recovery. This is a lesson learned situation. You decide if you crossed a line you had set for yourself.

Most of us have decided that masturbation triggers too many mental images or fantasizing (which isn't much different than watching porn directly). I would recommend abstaining from masturbation in your recovery. It's NOT easy. But if you're serious about recovery, it's necessary for most of us. But, that said, you set your limits that you're comfortable with. When I started my journey, I was told I should avoid sex for 90 days as well and chose not to do it ("hard mode"). It wasn't right for me as I'm married and was trying to rebuild trust and a solid relationship with my wife. For others, this is a great reset for them. Everyone's situation is different, but everyone's goal is the same. Find what you're comfortable with. Set up a game plan along those lines (journaling, talking about your struggle with someone close to you (in person!), find a hobby/passion for keeping you occupied, set up safeguards, learn about your addiction and read up on it more, listen to podcasts to keep you on track). And if you relapse during your journey and have to reset your clock, you get to join the club of 99.9% of the other guys that are in recovery. This happens a lot! But if you keep learning from your mistakes eventually you will achieve recovery...as I have. You can get there. You'll learn from your mistakes. Keep fighting ;)

    Very well said.

  19. yes.. you can be free from P- but you can keep a 'porn studio of the mind' that junk needs to be cleared out too and it's often harder than getting rid of than p.

I don't think so. I didn't give myself the satisfaction of going over the edge. There was more semen retention than release.
